SPOTTER Privacy Policy
What SPOTTER does
SPOTTER uses your phone’s camera to give real-time feedback on your exercise form. Pose analysis runs on your device.
What we collect
- Account information: a pseudonymous identifier assigned to your account. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that provider to verify your sign-in, but we don’t store them.
- Workout data: exercises, reps, weight lifted, form feedback, and the body-position points our on-device pose analysis produces during your sessions. These are saved to your account so you can review past workouts.
- Video (only with your permission): if you agree, we upload and store video of your workouts. This is off until you agree. You can change this anytime in Profile settings. If you don’t agree, SPOTTER still gives you live feedback and no video leaves your device.
- Device and usage information: a random identifier generated by the app on your device, device type, OS version, app version, and crash and diagnostic data. We use Sentry for crash reporting and session replay.
How we use it
To provide live feedback, maintain your workout history, secure the service and prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems and fix bugs, and improve and develop SPOTTER’s form-analysis features. We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or Athletic Insights, Inc.
Video specifically
Video is sensitive. We use it only for the purposes above. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising. We keep stored video until you ask us to delete it or you delete your account.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers that help us run SPOTTER: cloud hosting and storage (Amazon Web Services), crash reporting and diagnostics (Sentry), and sign-in (Google and Apple). We also share data when required by law. We do not sell personal data.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure.
Your choices and rights
- Turn video upload on or off in Profile settings.
- Request access to or deletion of your account and data (see below).
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. Contact us to exercise them.
Deleting your data
- In the app: go to Profile → Delete Account. This immediately and permanently deletes your account, your synced workouts, and any uploaded videos, removes the workouts stored on your device, and disconnects your Google or Apple sign-in. This can’t be undone.
- By email: if you can’t use the app, email support@athleticinsights.io with the subject “Delete my account.” We’ll verify the request and complete deletion within 30 days, except where we must keep records by law.
Age requirement
SPOTTER is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact support@athleticinsights.io.
Health disclaimer
SPOTTER is for educational and training purposes only. It is not medical advice and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any injury or condition. Consult a qualified professional before starting an exercise program.
